Feeling better but still tired (over-tired). Mwikali helped me do the last of the house cleaning and I took one last load to the tip. So, after tomorrow, when I hand back the keys, I don't have to think about it anymore! Hurray. I hate Meredith's Close now. Here is so much nicer.
I've been thinking about my Nicky book a lot and I started reading 'Pilgrim's Progress'. This is an excellent basis for my book. Obviously I won't have it so irritatingly pious, or as a series of conversations, but there is something about the way Christian is on a quest, which is very satisfying - both good and bad things happen to him, and he manages to carry on by holding his purpose clear. It is also a good method for discourse. Bunyan has taken things that have troubled him and discussed them by way of episodic encounters/ conversations. Perhaps I need to do something similar? Not in such a didactic way, but neverless, I need to be clear where the journey is taking me (in a metaphorical sense). Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz learns about courage, love, and 'brains'. What will I learn on my journey? What can Nicky teach me and what do I want answered? It might be worth brainstorming something...
